megaphoneBREAKING: Another updated Sailthru feature! We recently implemented a standard for naming and storing user demographic and sign up variables. This helps you further tailor your analytics experience, as it provides uniform variables – making it easier to organize your data – and also lets you create custom snapshots and reporting on the data you collect!

Never fear…you can still create your own custom variables on your users to store data unique to your business, but we recommend using our standard variables to gain access to the upcoming reporting features we will be rolling out over the next few months.

The rationale behind creating standard nomenclature is similar to how the US Census collects data. Setting standardized vars helps us better determine the type of data clients want to store and allows Sailthru to build from that knowledge to create stronger, more user-friendly analytics surrounding the behaviors and demographics of your users.

You can check out a list of Sailthru standard variables currently available in our documentation.
