It hasn’t been an easy year for restaurants, but communities all over the country have stepped up to support restaurants in the hardest of times. As long-time Bon Appétit readers, we have always looked forward to the brand’s Annual Hot 10 — a restaurant guide that points you toward the perfect place to make your next reservation.

This month however, Bon Appétit took a different approach to this traditional list. Rather than highlight individual restaurants, the publication decided to call out the industry and the communities they’ve impacted immensely with their Heads of the Table initiative.

A Seat at Bon Appétit’s Table

We love Bon Appétit’s approach and thoughtful recasting of this annual recommendation. Looking back at a time when going to a restaurant was impossible, this September email highlights the importance of how the industry struggled, innovated, and eventually came back to the delight of patrons all over the world once again.

Bon Appétit features highly relevant and engaging content for every recipient within this email, pointing to recipes, innovative dishes, stories of winemakers, sommeliers, chefs, and beyond to make sure we never forget to appreciate what the restaurant experience is, how it can bring people together, and the talented people that make it happen.

As always, Bon Appétit wraps up their email with some drool-worthy recipes, reminding the reader it all comes down to the food! Now that you mention it, those New Mexican-style breakfast burritos are calling our name — so goodbye until next month.
