Artspace is an online marketplace for fine art and design. Founded in 2011 by Chris Vroom and Catherine Levene, Artspace was created to connect avid and aspiring art collectors with engaging artists globally. With their experience in with worlds of digital media and art, Vroom and Levene have grown Artspace to a premiere curator of high-end art, design and content for art enthusiasts.

What is the key to Artspace’s success?

At Artspace, projects are very collaborative and they attribute their success and growing popularity (The Wall Street Journal and TechCrunch to name a few are taking notice) to a dedicated and talented staff. “Every project ends up being a group effort, from the initial idea to the final product, ” said Jennifer Ruocco Sr. Marketing Manager for Artspace. “We’re also part of the Made in NY tech community, so we have in-house developers on hand who are constantly working to improve the site’s features to give our visitors the best possible experience.”

How do you provide insider access to the world’s best art?

“We have curators worldwide who select the artworks and reach out to galleries and museums for  partnership opportunities,” says Ruocco. “We also have a dedicated editorial team to write all of the content on the site, from event roundups and art education pieces to the latest art market news. By showcasing the art and pairing it with relevant editorial stories in our emails, we are able to bring the best of the art world directly to our members’ inboxes.”  Artspace provides email subscribers first access to new artworks and special events.

What’s next for Artspace?

This has been a fast paced month for Artspace. The first online auction to benefit BOMB Magazine marked the beginning of many more events in support of their non-profit partners. Artspace has also been nominated for a Webby recognizing their email newsletters and curation, click here for more information and to vote on the email newsletters category.
